What can I eat in the dining rooms that qualifies as a Smart Meal™? Visit The DASH at Holmes or TK to start assembling your Smart Meal™. Enjoy the entree and one or two sides from The DASH, add some fresh fruit from the salad bar and/or a glass of fat-free or low-fat milk, and you have a Smart Meal™.
Where is The DASH line?
The DASH is located in Holmes Dining Hall and Tobey-Kendel Dining Room in the following locations:
- Holmes: between the Wok 'n Roll and Home Plate stations
- Tobey-Kendel: south end of Wok 'n Roll
The DASH wil be available at the UC Food Court starting Fall 2009!
When can I choose items from The DASH?
The DASH is available during the following meals:
- Monday – Friday: lunch and dinner
- Saturday - Sunday: brunch and dinner
What standards does The DASH follow:
- All items must be free of the following:
- soy
- tree nuts
- peanuts
- eggs
- dairy
- shellfish
- gluten
- Starch
- whole grains at least 3 lunches and 3 dinners per week
- Vegetable
- steamed
- grilled
- roasted
What are the nutritional guidelines?
- Less than or equal to 30% of the total calories from fat
- Less than or equal to 10% of the calories from saturated fat
- No trans-fats
- Less than 800 mg of sodium per serving
Ingredients in The DASH menus will be allergy free, but the recipes are prepared in our regular kitchens.
